1st TEST MATCH AGAINST AUSTRALIA CRUCIAL FOR INDIA :GANGULY

Sharing is Caring

At the recently held Leadership Summit of a leading Indian Newspaper, former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly remembered the good old days and spoke about the importance of the upcoming Australian tour on the ICC World Cup which is set to begin in February’2015.

1st TEST MATCH AGAINST AUSTRALIA CRUCIAL FOR INDIA :GANGULY

Ganguly felt that India’s performance in the upcoming Australian tour would have a huge impact on their performance in the World Cup as the conditions in Australia would be completely opposite to that of India and England.

He felt that while in England it’s all about “seams and swings”, in Australia it will be about ‘pace’.

He also felt the Kookaburra balls would play a huge factor in these upcoming months as it is not easy to bowl with them. While Duke balls swing and seam right through in England, Kookaburra don’t seam much once 25-30 overs are bowled.

But Sourav felt the biggest match to look out for in this tour would be the first Test that the two countries would play. He said…

“What I am worried is the first Test. If they get through that they should be fine through to the World Cup.  It is a long tour and they will have to be mentally fresh.

But then you don’t get to play cricket for your entire life, so enjoy it.”

India starts their Australian campaign on December 4th, when the Virat Kohli lead Team India would meet the host team in Woolloongabba, Brisbane.
