Hyderabad, Sep 04 (ANI): A local court convicted two persons in the twin-bombing at Lumbini Park and Gokul Chat in Hyderabad in 2007. Aneeq Shafeeq Sayeed and Ismail Chaudhary were convicted in connection with the case. Two more accused, Farooq Sharfuddin Tarkish and Mohammed Sadiq Israr Shaik were acquitted. Judgment on one more accused, Tareeq Anjum will be pronounced on Monday. All five accused are lodged in Charlapalli Jail and two accused, Riyaz Bhatkal and Iqbal Bhatkal are absconding. The quantum of the sentence of the accused will be argued on Monday. Hyderabad shook to the incident of twin blasts on August 25, 2007. The two areas that came under attack were Gokul Chat and Lumbini Park. The terror attack witnessed almost 42 deaths and over 60 people injured. Four persons were arrested in connection with the case soon after, namely Mohammed Sadiq, Ansar Ahmed Badshah Shaikh, Akber Ismail and Anique Shafiq Syed. The accused were said to be Indian Mujahideen operatives. Nearly 170 witnesses were examined and cross-examined during the trial of the case. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) special court on August 27 postponed the judgment till September 4. This year marked the 11th anniversary of the deathly terror blasts.
