Tension gripped Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh after 6 farmers were killed and several other sustained injuries in police firing as agitated farmers intensified their protest demanding loan waiver and fair price for their crops. Earlier in the day, internet services were suspended in the BJP-ruled state owing to widespread protest by farmers’ unions. As per the sources, while protesting the farmers turned violent setting afire as many as 10 trucks, one Dial 100 vehicle and three motorcycles in Piplia Mandi area which forced CRPF and police to open fire to gain control over the mob.
