Adele smashes records with first-week U.S sales of ’25’

Well it’s no surprise, Adele raced to the top of the Billboard 200 chart on Monday (November 30) with a record 3.48 million units sold, 3.38 million of which were pure album sales – that’s the single largest sales week for an album since Nielsen began tracking point-of-sale music purchases in 1991.

Coming in at No. 2 was Justin Bieber’s “Purpose,” which moved 290,000 units, and at No. 3 was One Direction with their album “Made in the A.M.” which sold 108,000 units.

Rapper Jadakiss entered the charts this week at No. 4. His “Top 5 Dead Or Alive” sold 66,000 units.

And rounding out the top five was The Weeknd, whose “Beauty Behind the Madness” sold 65,000 copies.
