Advani didn’t want to free terrorists for IC-814 hostages: Farooq Abdullah

New Delhi, July 22 (ANI): An angry former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah said that he was opposed to freeing militants in exchange of passengers of hijacked IC-814 aircraft in 1999. Abdullah who was speaking at a panel discussion on the formal release of the book, ‘Kashmir The Vajpayee Years’ by AKS Dulat and Aditya Sinha said that the then Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani did not want to free the terrorists to secure release of the IC-814 hostages but appeared to have been pushed into agreeing. He also said the release had shown India as a “weak nation”.
