Allure of gold remains unblemished as Indians rush into festive buying

Sharing is Caring

New Delhi, April 21 (ANI): Jewellery markets wore a busy look on Tuesday as customers flocked to buy gold on Akshay Tritiya – the second biggest gold buying day in the Hindu calendar. At Dariba Kalan, the centuries-old jewellery bazaar in Delhi’s old quarters, jewellers were struggling to meet the rush of customers who had descended on their shops after a relatively lean phase. The Hindi word Akshaya literally means indestructible or eternal. It falls annually in the third lunar month of the Shukla Paksh in the Hindu month of Vaisakha. This year, the eternal day fell on April 21. On Tuesday, shops dazzled with a blend of intricate and exquisite gold necklaces, earrings, sovereigns (gold coins) and other accessories.
