Amazon brings ‘Dash’ button to Britain

Run out of loo roll?

Just press a button.

Run out of coffee? Press it again.

Amazon has launched it’s ‘Dash’ service in Britain.

Hoping to help those who are too busy or forgetful to shop for essentials…

The thumb-sized wifi-connected buttons are each emblazoned with a logo of the product.

And need just a simple tap to order the item from a user’s amazon account.

“It’s aimed at families who use a lot of one product, a family who use a lot of toilet paper, drink a lot of coffee, use a lot of razor blades.”

48 brands are now available to Amazon Prime customers.

Products available include dishwasher powder and huggies nappies.

And fun items like the foam bullets that go into NERF toy guns and play-doh.

The company keeps its numbers close to is chest.

But in the U.S. where Dash has been up and running since March 2015, orders are rushing in quickly

“The actual physical button is only first step in the whole process. Amazon wants to incorporate it into products like a new washing machine which will track how much washing powder you use, as you get low, it will automatically send an order to amazon and the next thing you know, the package arrives on your doorstep, that is the next step and that’s why companies want to get involved now, it’s all about the internet of things and bringing the technology of products to the consumer.”

Each button costs £5 and you then get money off your orders.

The days of the last minute dash to the cornershop, are well and truly numbered.
