Nearly one-fourth of Americans buy dark chocolate or chocolates with added fruits or nuts, according to the National Confectioners Association. One in five choses smaller portions.

The National Retail Federation says that health trend could scare away some of the roughly $2 billion that Americans will spend on Halloween candy this year.
