Anita Datar, Indian-US aid worker killed in Mali hotel attack
Takoma Park, Nov 22 (ANI): Indian-U.S. aid worker Anita Datar was one of the many who were killed in the attack on a luxury hotel in Bamako, Mali, where armed Islamist militants took hostages on Friday, the U.S. State Department said. Datar, 41, is believed to be the only Indian-American among the 19 people killed. Datar was a senior manager at Palladium Group and a founding member of Tulalens, a not-for-profit organization connecting under-served communities with health services. Six Americans were recovering safely from their injuries and U.S. Special Forces assisted in the rescue efforts, U.S. officials said earlier. However, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had earlier confirmed that all 20 Indians among the hostages were safely evacuated.
