Bhubaneshwar (Odisha), Aug 23 (ANI): The Asthi Kalash of late former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee reached Bhubaneshwar in Odisha to be immersed in the Bay of Bengal at Puri.
Vajpayee’s Asthi Kalash will be kept at the BJP state office for the night and the ‘Atal Kalash Yatra’ will be taken out today in the morning. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, former Chief Minister of Odisha Giridhar Gamang, BJP state President Basant Panda were present at an event to commemorate the late leader who died on August 16.
Vajpayee’s ashes will be immersed in rivers across the country, with top leaders participating in a ritual that has been dubbed ‘Atal Kalash Yatra’ by the ruling BJP.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah handed over urns wrapped in red cloth containing Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s ashes to state party chiefs at an event organized Tuesday morning.
