At least 11 dead in Norway helicopter crash
It was a fiery scene.
Rescue services say the helicopter was destroyed when it crashed and that 11 of the 13 people on board were killed.
Emergency workers are still looking for survivors.
Witnesses say there was a loud explosion followed by a black cloud of smoke billowing into the air.
The helicopter was on its way back from an oil platform, in this, an oil-rich region where such activity is commonplace.
Officials say this model of helicopter had experienced gear box malfunctions in the past but that the manufacturer had fixed the problem.
An investigation into what caused the crash is underway.
