Sporting their best huggies, 20 babies are crawling their way to the finish is what has been called “the slowest two minutes in sports.”

And their off — and down the 12-foot stretch they come, until eleven-month-old Scarlett Yturriaga pulls in to the finish and wins this year’s Diaper Derby!

The race has these athletes exhausted.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) YURI YTURRIAGA, FATHER OF SCARLETT WHO IS BEING HELD BY MOTHER AURORA, SAYING:

“She won. She was cranky but she won. It’s nap time.”

Of course, good sportsmanship is key.

The event marks one of the festivities on the sidelines of the 2015 Panasonic New York City Triathlon, which brings some 4,000 triathletes to the city..

They may not be able to walk or talk, but they’re champions all the same.
