BBMP polls: BJP leads, PM congratulates workers

Bengaluru, August 25 (ANI): The BJP workers in Karnataka celebrated after the party established victory in 32 seats so far. As per latest reports, it is leading in 100 more seats in the recently concluded elections of the BBMP council. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated Karnataka BJP leaders and workers for good results in Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) elections. Prime Minister Modi took to twitter to convey his wishes. “Thank you Bengaluru! My gratitude to people and congratulations to Karnataka BJP leaders & workers for the great BBMP election results,” Prime Minister Modi tweeted. “After MP and Rajasthan, BBMP poll results complete a hat trick of wins for BJP. This is a win for politics of development and good governance,” he said in another tweet. Prime Minister Modi further said that his party is committed to fulfilling aspirations of 125 crore Indians. “People’s continuous faith in the BJP is humbling and gladdening. We are fully committed to fulfilling aspirations of 125 crore Indians,” he said in a tweet. Meanwhile, the Congress has been elected in 26 seats while it is leading in 75 seats. JD (S) has so far won five seats while seven seats have been won by the independent candidates.
