Beautification of Dal Lake in Kashmir underway to boost tourism
Srinagar, Aug 25 (ANI): The government in Jammu and Kashmir is carrying out the beautification work for the famed Dal Lake to attract more tourists to the Kashmir valley. Various things like sewage treatment, hydraulic works and restoration works are being done under the project. The beautification work is aimed at attracting more tourists to state’s summer capital Srinagar and to give a substantial business boost to the city’s trading and commercial communities. The most aesthetic and visible part of the project is the development of shoreline, which is being done by Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) along the course of Northern Foreshore Road (NFR) from Kralsangri Dal view to Hazratbal. Assistant Executive Engineer of LAWDA, Feroz Ahmad said the shoreline has seen considerable improvement in the past couple of years since the inception of the project. At present, tiles are being laid there.
