“I confirm as I indicated yesterday that what we fear is an attack similar to the one in Paris, with several individuals who could also possibly launch several offensives at the same time in multiple locations. “

Some are starting to panic.

“I am totally worried. I’ve lived in Brussels for 20 years and I have never seen this. Walking the street, I was stopped earlier and told it would be best not to walk in the street now. Its making me panic.”

Others fear there is no end in sight.

“For how long are these measures going to be maintained, that is the question. We do this for one week, then two weeks and then that will create a lot of problems like the metro (subway), its a big problem in Brussels.”

Belgium has been at the heart of investigations into the Paris attacks that left 130 people dead after links to Brussels emerged.
