“It is an interesting contest between three of the chief ministerial aspirants in the Delhi polls.
All three namely Arvind Kejriwal, Ajay Maken and Kiran Bedi have submitted their affidavit declaring their assets.
While we take you through the declarations, interestingly while the leaders declare their cars in their affidavit, they are usually seen in other cars.
CARNAMA OF CROREPATIS AS POLITICAL HEAT RISES
Of the three chief ministerial aspirants in Delhi, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal ranks lowest with assets worth Rs 2.09. In his affidavit that Kejriwal filed with nomination papers for the New Delhi constituency, assets of the Kejriwal couple have gone down by Rs five lakh compared to the total assets of Rs 2.14 crore he declared during last year’s Lok Sabha election. Everyone saw Kejriwal’s ride in his Wagon R for his oath taking ceremony and at other occasions. These days however he is often seen riding an Innova.
On number 2 position is Kiran Bedi who has assets worth Rs 11.65 crore.
Bedi declared movable and immovable assets worth the same amount belonging to her and her husband. In her affidavit, she said she has three flats–at Dwarka, Uday Park in Delhi and at Gautam Buddh Nagar of UP and the total value of these flats has been put at Rs 6.05 crore. She has also declared fixed deposits. Bedi, who owns a Maruti 800 car, has agricultural land in two locations – one in Pune and another in Gurgaon. Kiran Bedi off late has been seen riding anything other than a Maruti 800.
The total worth of Congress leader Maken and his wife’s movable and immovable assets stands at Rs 12.34 crore, more than double from his declaration last year during the Lok Sabha polls. Maken has movable assets worth Rs 2.99 crore while his wife has a total of Rs 1.20 crore. The value of their immovable assets has increased to Rs 8.14 crore as compared to Rs 2.21 crore last year. Maken is Congress’ Campaign Committee chief and is contesting from the Sadar Bazar Assembly seat. Maken himself has a penchant for big cars.
