Cauvery row: DMK workers detained as they resort to ‘rail roko’ protest

Pudukkottai (Tamil Nadu), Sep 16 (ANI): A group of Dravid Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) workers, who attempted a ‘rail roko protest’ in connection to the ongoing Cauvery row, were detained by the police. Heavy security forces are deployed across the region to battle any untoward incident. Many parts of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka have been witnessing protests and agitation after the Supreme Court directed the Karnataka government to release 12,000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu every day till September 20. Earlier on September 5, the apex court had called on the state government to release 15,000 cusecs of Cauvery water.
