Cauvery row: Over 20 buses set ablaze at depot

Bengaluru, Sep 12 (ANI): Amidst the raging unrest in connection to the Cauvery water row, several agitated protestors on Monday evening set at least 20 buses ablaze in Karnataka’s capital city Bengaluru. The mass damage was done at the KPN Depot. A large number of people, including the pro-Kannada activists, are indulged in serial protests against the Cauvery water issue. Protests began to erupt up after the Supreme Court directed Karnataka government to release 15,000 cusecs water from Cauvery River for the villagers of Tamil Nadu. Modifying its September 5 order, the Supreme Court today asked the Government of Karnataka to release to release 12000 cusecs of Cauvery River water every day to Tamil Nadu till September 20.
