CENTRE ASKS AMU WHY IT BARRED WOMEN FROM LIBRARY
While the Human Resource Development Ministry has stepped in seeking a clarification from the University, Union Minister Smriti Irani called the statement an insult to students.
The Vice Chancellor himself claimed that he wasn’t being sexist, but stuck to his stand. He claimed that girls can’t be allowed in the library for logistical reasons. The administration too claimed that only undergraduate female students aren’t allowed in the library and Post-graduate and research scholars are allowed entry.
