Beijing, Oct 30 (ANI): Chinese parents on Friday said they were hesitating to have a second child despite Beijing’s easing of the family planning policy issued the previous day. After decades of a strict one-child policy, the ruling Communist Party said on Thursday (October 29) that China will allow all families the freedom to have two children. For many parents, the loosening of the policy will have little impact on the number of children they choose to have. As an employee of the government, Kong Linde is one of many parents who would have faced serious consequences had she had a second child under the previous policy. Now that she has been given the option to have two children, Kong said the financial burden to raise a child in China has made it impossible. Meanwhile, expert said that while there were no immediate details on how the new policy would be implemented, the Communist Party would need to take extra steps to make sure it is effective.
