Civil Aviation Ministry gives nod for four Greenfield Airports

New Delhi, Dec 29 (ANI): The Civil Aviation Ministry has given clearance for four greenfield airports, three of which will be located in Andhra Pradesh and one international airport at Dholera, Gujarat. Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju said the international airport at Dholera is expected to reduce the air traffic load at the existing Ahmedabad airport. The Ministry has also given its go-ahead for development of a greenfield airport in Nellore and Kurnool districts under a public-private partnership. A greenfield airport is a new airport which is constructed on an undeveloped site. The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamsabad near Hyderabad and Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru are greenfield airports.
