STORY: “Homeland” star Claire Danes cemented her place in Hollywood with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday (September 24).
Danes has received four Emmy nominations in the category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of a bipolar CIA officer on “Homeland.” She’s taken the award home twice, once in 2012 and again in 2013.
Danes also received an Emmy in 2010 for her performance in the HBO biopic “Temple Grandin.”
“We performers would be doing this on the street if we had to. We have always had the inexplicable, irrepressible, maybe even irrational urge to entertain. We’ve all done it our entire lives, in our bedrooms, living rooms, showers, but that impulse to express ourselves only has meaning and value when we know we’re doing it for an audience. It is the most important piece and this star today is proof, in the most reassuring way, that I have succeeded in doing that. That I have made a connection that is real,” said Danes before her star was unveiled.
Danes received her very first Emmy nomination back in 1995 when she was only 16 for “My So-Called Life”
Danes has starred in various films, including “Romeo + Juliet”, “The Hours” and “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.”
