Colourful air show wows spectators in France
NATURAL ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
Paragliders, hang gliders and parachutists from around the world took to the skies above the French alps across Saturday and Sunday (September 24 – 25) as part of the Icarus Cup. Hot air balloons, paragliders dressed as colourful dragons and “jet-man” Yvess Rossy, who wears a jet-packed wingsuit, performed stunts for the 43rd edition of the show in the sky above Sainte-Hilaire du Touvet in France’s Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region. Around 10,000 pilots attend the spectacle, which this year saw added security and controls due to the state of emergency implemented across France following a spate of Islamist attacks.
