Watch out, Golden Globes, he is back. British comedian Ricky Gervais returns to host the annual movie and TV awards ceremony in 2016.

Creator of mockumentary “The Office”, he hosted the dinner for three consecutive years from 2010-2012, his barbed comments keeping his celebrity targets on edge.

In 2012, Gervais vowed to never host the awards again. But, he joked on twitter that he’d accepted the offer in a drunken state.

Organizers the Hollywood Foreign Press Association said they were thrilled to have him back for Hollywood’s biggest and rowdiest awards ceremony.

“His off-the-cuff wit and quirky charm will surely have the room and audiences around the world at the edge of their seats,” they said in a statement.

Gervais will bring his biting humour back to the 73rd ceremony in Los Angeles in January.
