Congress slams PM Modi for inconvenience caused in Chandigarh on his visit
New Delhi, Sept 11 (ANI): The Congress on Friday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for creating inconvenience to the citizens of Chandigarh due to his visit to inaugurate a new terminal at the city airport. The parking lot at the main crematorium in the heart of the city was turned into parking space for a public rally nearby that was addressed by the PM. Families that are bereaved were asked to use another crematorium in the western part of the city. Colleges and schools were closed and exams were cancelled in many institutions. Brigadier Devinder Singh who fought in the Kargil war in 1999 against Pakistan had to cremate his 24-year-old son in Mohali nearby, since the main Chandigarh crematorium was not available. However, Prime Minister Modi expressed his regret over inconvenience caused to citizens due to his visit. An inquiry will be held and responsibility will be fixed, PM Modi said in a tweet.
