Cotton farmers distressed with pest attack on standing crops

Nagpur (Maharashtra)/Bathinda (Punjab), Aug 02 (ANI): Cotton farmers of Maharashtra and Punjab are saddened as the standing crop has been hit by bug attacks. The state Governments have asked the farmers to step up pesticide sprays to ward off the pest attacks. White fly is a prominent pest attacking the crops in both states. The farmers alleged ignorance on part of the Government and demanded monetary assistance to battle the situation. India is a major producer of cotton.
