CPI (M) to protest over squeezing of MGNREGA
Patna, Nov 16 (ANI): Communist Party of India-Marxist CPI (M), on Sunday said that it would launch a nationwide protest against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government for squeezing Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act MGNREGA, which provides jobs for 50 million households. CPI-M general secretary, Prakash Karat, while addressing a news briefing in Patna, said the scheme was important for the poor. Karat said that MGNREGA benefited India’s northeastern state of Tripura but if the funds were cut, 50 percent people would not have any work. Karat informed that all six Left parties of India have come together and decided to go against the BJP over these issues.
