Former Indian cricketer and member of the 1983 World Cup winning team Kirti Azad has also expressed his deepest condolences at the tragic demise of Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes. In an exclusive chat, Kirti feels time has come when cricket associations need to take this matter seriously.

The 25-year-old cricketer, who was in contention for a Test recall for the coming series against India, died at the St Vincent’s Hospital, where he was battling for life after being hit on the head by a bouncer from Sean Abbot on Tuesday. Reacting to it former Indian cricketer Kirti feels that associations need look into the security and medical facilities provided to players on the field very seriously.

The member of the 1983 world cup winning team also reacted on Supreme Court’s hearing on the ongoing IPL Spot fixing case.
