Cricket Community, Politicos Condole Phillip Hughes Demise

After 25-year-old Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes died at a Sydney Hospital today after failing to recover from a blow on the head he suffered while batting in a Sheffield Shield match three days ago, the cricket world has been left in shock. Not only cricket players but also politicians expressed their deep grief over the death of the young and talented cricketer.


Hughes, who was rushed to the hospital, in a critical state failed to recover after a surgery and remained in induced coma in the intensive care unit before succumbing to his injury. To condole his demise veteran bowler Anil Kumble tweeted- “Sad day for cricket @CricketAus Phil Hughes RIP. Knew him whilst he came over to MI, thorough Pro..will miss you.”


Yuvraj Singh also expressed his grief after hearing the news. He tweeted- “Dark day for cricket can’t believe Phil hughes has gone! Rip my friend! My heart goes out to his family !shocking” 


Congress leader Shashi Tharoor  said- “Awful news about Phillip Hughes. No young man ventures onto a sports field thinking he’s risking his life. My thoughts & prayers 4 his family.”


Former Australian cricketer Glenn McGrath tweeted- “Such terrible news with the passing of Phil Hughes. Our deepest sympathies to his family.”


A shocked Adam Gilchrist in a series of tweets said- “Dear Lord, if ever the need for footprints in the sand, it’s now #PhilHughes #courage #strength”
