“I was standing and I felt an impact. I hit the wall of the train and, when I got up, we helped carry out the injured.”

The accident caught the train staff by surprise.

“We have had other accidents but not of this magnitude that we had to go to a hospital or anything like that.”

Famously slow, Cuba’s railroad is in disrepair and needs both updating and maintenance.
