Dalai Lama pre-celebrates his birthday with archbishop Tutu in Dharamsala
Dharamsala, April 24 (ANI): South African anti-apartheid leader Archbishop Desmond Tutu celebrated the 80th birthday of his old friend and Tibetan spiritual leader, the 14th Dalai Lama, two months in advance, in hill town of Dharamsala. The two Nobel laureates celebrated the day with children in upper Tibetan Children Village (TCV) School. Seated on a raised platform surrounded by over a thousand children under a traditional opera canopy, Tutu and the Dalai Lama spoke about peace, joy and compassion. The Dalai Lama turns 80 on July 6. Archbishop Desmond Tutu arrived in Dharamsala on Saturday to meet his long-time friend. In a special gesture, the Dalai Lama specially visited the Gaggal airport to receive the anti-apartheid activist.
