“I believe with this market it is very difficult to believe in something. If you have some targets and you understand that this target, then it is very difficult to buy. I repeat – this transfer market is very crazy, it is very difficult to reach the targets for us. But now we have a game against Burnley that now is more important than the transfer market. Then, at the end of the transfer market, I hope to have some players more than now.”

“Very difficult. Because Burnley is a team (that is) very solid in defensive situations and they are always ready to go in counter-attack with their two forwards, (who are) very good. We must pay great attention when we are attacking because in this situation there is very danger when we are attacking.”

STORY: Antonio Conte called this summer’s transfer window “crazy” on Friday (August 26) as his new side Chelsea look to make a few reinforcements before the end of the month.

Conte, who took over as Chelsea boss this summer, has already added midfielder N’Golo Kante and striker Michy Batshuayi to his squad but has admitted more players are needed.

Chelsea finished a lowly tenth in the league last season, partly due to a poor defensive record. However, Conte hasn’t been able to add any defensive targets so far this transfer window, something the Italian admits has been frustrating.

“This transfer market is very crazy, it is very difficult to reach the targets for us. But now we have a game against Burnley that now is more important than the transfer market. Then, at the end of the transfer market, I hope to have some players more than now,” said Conte at a news conference on Friday.

Chelsea host Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday (August 27), after the newly-promoted side stunned Liverpool last weekend.

Liverpool, who began the season with a 4-3 victory at Arsenal, were found wanting against Burnley as Sean Dyche masterminded a 2-0 triumph thanks to goals from Sam Vokes and Andre Gray.

Conte is determined that Chelsea will not suffer a similar fate at Stamford Bridge.

“Burnley is a team (that is) very solid in defensive situations and they are always ready to go in counter-attack with their two forwards, (who are) very good,” warned Conte.

Conte has enjoyed a 100 percent start to life in England, overseeing narrow victories over West Ham United and Watford in the Premier League and a 3-2 win over Bristol Rovers in the League Cup.
