Dramatic coast guard rescue off Queens, NY
NATURAL ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
Coast guard rescue teams plucked seven crew members off a fishing boat on Thursday after it ran aground off of Queens, New York.
The Coast Guard reported that waves of up to eight feet high were complicating the rescue efforts and local media reported that all crew members were eventually able to get to shore.
The fishing boat, however, remained stuck in the mud in the Rockaways Inlet. There was no immediate word on any injuries.
The boat was caught in sometimes violent storms that hit much of the U.S. East Coast overnight, and which left at least 4 people dead in Virginia.
