3. SOUNDBITE (Spanish) FC BARCELONA COACH, LUIS ENRIQUE, ON GAME WITH ROMA, SAYING:

“I think that for Roma this is an attractive situation, to come to Camp Nou to win, they can’t afford any other result because in the other group game their main rival could win, and so they have to play. The first day was different, we saw a much more defensive Roma than we usually is in its their own championship. I think it can be a very interesting game because both teams have very good players, and both teams know how to play football well.”

STORY: FC Barcelona coach Luis Enrique said on Monday (November 23) that he is confident talisman Lionel Messi has fully recovered and just needs to play minutes on the field to regain his match fitness.

Messi is set for his first start for nearly two months when Barcelona, fresh from pulverising Real Madrid 4-0 at the weekend, set their sights on Champions League qualification when AS Roma visit the Nou Camp on Tuesday (24 November).

The Argentina captain had been out injured since the end of September but Barca have coped well, with strike partners Neymar and Luis Suarez in blistering form.

Ahead of the Champions League Group E match against AS Roma, Enrique said the player is looking good in training.

“I saw him very well. (It’s) Great news for all the ‘culers’ (Barca fans) and for all the team mates and for all those that make up Barca, to see the best (player) back on the field, training and playing, and now all he needs is to charge his legs with minutes, with batteries and enjoy Leo again,” he said.

The opening Champions League group game saw Roma and Barca draw 1-1 in the Italian capital in September.

Barcelona lead the group with 1- points while Roma lie second with five, just one ahead of Bayer Leverkusen.

Former Roma coach Enrique said he is expecting a good match between two sides who play attractive soccer.

“I think that for Roma this is an attractive situation, to come to Camp Nou to win, they can’t afford any other result because in the other group game their main rival could win, and so they have to play,” he said.

“The first day was different, we saw a much more defensive Roma than we usually is in its their own championship. I think it can be a very interesting game because both teams have very good players, and both teams know how to play football well.”

A draw will be enough for last season’s treble winners to reach the last 16 for a 12th consecutive season.
