Mumbai, Aug 31 (ANI): There is evidence that clearly establishes arrested activists in Bhima-Koregon violence links with Maoists, said Maharashtra Police ADG PB Singh. “When we were confident that clear links have been established then only we moved to take action against these people, in different cities. Evidence clearly establishes their roles with Maoists”, said ADG PB Singh during a press conference in Mumbai. “Investigation revealed that a big controversy was being plotted by Maoist organisations. The accused were helping them to take their goals forward. A terrorist organisation was also involved. On May17, sections under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act were imposed”, he added. Five human rights activists and lawyers have been put under house arrests for their alleged links with Maoists, which triggered a row of protests in different parts of the country.
