Exiled-Tibetans hail European Parliament resolution on Larung Gar Monastery

Sharing is Caring

Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh, Dec 19 (ANI): Tibetans living in-exile in Dharamshala hailed European Parliament resolution on Larung Gar, a Buddhist academy, which was razed off by the Chinese authorities. The European Parliament had on Thursday adopted a resolution on breaches of human rights, democracy and rule of law in China and condemned dismantling of Larung Gar, the largest Buddhist institute in the world. Welcoming the move, Tibetan activist Tenzin Tselha said European Union standing up for Tibetan cause was a good sign. Since July this year, the Chinese government began a demolition drive at Larung Gar, a valley in the China-administered Sichuan province in East Tibet, where thousands of monks, nuns and students study and live together.
