Family of deceased Madhesi activist await government aid
Birgunj (Nepal), Feb 23 (ANI): Family members of those killed in police firing during Madhesi movement in 2015 still await to receive government aid. At least 52 people were killed in police firing during the protests as they were demanding amendment in Nepal’s constitution. They have accused the government for unfairly not giving equal rights to Madhesis and other minority communities in the country. Binita Devi Kalwar, a relative of Sohan Sah Kalwar, one of the deceased protestor, continues to pin hope for ‘justice.’ She is hopeful that the new government will do something for Sohan Sah’s family. Family of Sohan Sah Kalwar resides in Ward no. 10 in Birgunj and earns livelihood by running a small eatery. As KP Sharma Oli takes over as Nepal’s new Prime Minister, the victim families are hopeful to get an aid.
