FBI: Minnesota stabbings “potential act of terrorism”
ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
Minnesota officials on Sunday (September 18) briefed reporters on a stabbing spree at a mall shortly after Islamic State claimed the killed suspect was their “soldier.”
FBI special agent in Charge Richard T. Thornton said the FBI was investigating the incident as a “potential act of terrorism.”
The man, who was wearing a private security uniform, made references to Allah and asked at least one person if they were Muslim before he assaulted them at the Crossroads Center mall in St. Cloud on Saturday night.
He was shot dead by an off-duty police officer.
