Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday (December 21) ahead of the release of his western “The Hateful Eight”. Emcee of the event and a frequent cast member in Tarantino films, Samuel L. Jackson, was treated to a spontaneous performance of Tarantino singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to the now 67-year-old actor. Jackson has appeared in a number of Tarantino films including his iconic role as Jules Winnfield in ‘Pulp Fiction’.

Born in Knoxville, Tennessee but raised in southern California, Tarantino recounted his experiences on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as a child, specifically his memories of standing in front of the TCL Chinese Theatre where his name would also one day be memorialized in the pavement.

Tarantino’s Hollywood Walk of Fame induction event was attended by cast members of his upcoming film release ‘The Hateful Eight’.

Tarantino has been awarded numerous awards including two Academy Awards and a Palme d’Or for Pulp Fiction in 1994.
