New Delhi/Mumbai, Oct 28 (ANI): Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Wednesday welcomed the Pune-based Film and Television Institute of India students’ decision to call off their 139-day-old strike. Rathore said that the ministry is committed to making FTII an institute of national importance. Meanwhile, FTII Chairperson Gajendra Chauhan also welcomed the students’ decision to resume attending classes and appealed them to solve their issues through dialogue. The students started their strike on June 12 to protest the appointments of Chauhan as chairperson and the appointments of four members to the FTII society. Also, former FTII students Prateek Vats and Vikrant Pawar returned their national awards in support of FTII students protest.
