Geeta wants to meet Salman Khan before meeting parents

Indore, Oct 18 (ANI): Geeta, the deaf-mute Indian woman, who has been stuck in Pakistan for nearly 15 years, wants to meet Bollywood superstar Salman when she returns to India, even before meeting her own kin. Geeta lost her family when she wandered over one of the world’s most militarised borders as a child. A Hindu woman, now in her early twenties, was around 11 years old when she inadvertently crossed the border from India to Pakistan. Earlier this week the Indian High Commission in Islamabad mailed pictures of a family in Bihar, to the charitable Edhi Foundation where Geeta now lives in the port city of Karachi. She recognised the people in the photographs as her parents and siblings. On Saturday, Geeta shared her views with the director of an organization dedicated to deaf and mute in Indore, through video conferencing. It was a mistake that would lead to a long search for her family, which captivated the public after a hit film with a similar plot was released this year. The movie “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” was released last month with Salman Khan plays an Indian man who finds a mute Pakistani girl and tries to reunite her with her family.
