U.S. presidential candidate Hillary Clinton spoke about economic issues facing women on Thursday (April 23) at the Women In The World summit in New York City.

Clinton was the keynote speaker at the three day event that highlights the important work of women in business, politics, entertainment, health and other fields.

During her speech that doubled as a campaign stump speech, Clinton said “the full participation of women and girls in every aspect of their societies the great unfinished business of the 21st century. And not just for women, but for everyone. And not in just far away countries, but right here in the United States. We know that when women are strong, families are strong. When families are strong, countries are strong. So this is about more than just unleashing the full potential of women.”

Clinton also spoke about economic and wage parity for women, gay and transgender equality, immigration issues and the American dream.

“It’s about what we need to do to make sure every child, every single child has the same chance at equality and opportunity. That’s the dream we share. That’s the fight we must wage. We are so close, closer than we’ve ever been. I’m grateful that there is now a new burst of energy around the rights and opportunities of women and girls. There is still much to be done in our own country, much more to be done around the world. But I am confident and optimistic that if we get to work, we will get it done together. Thank you all very much.”

This is the sixth annual Women In The World summit which was founded by publishing and media executive Tina Brown.
