Gisele Bundchen struts to the top

Even in semi-retirement Gisele Bundchen continues to rack up big bucks.

The Brazilian model tops Forbes magazine’s list of the highest paid models for 2016 with earnings estimated at $30.5 million (USD).

The 35-year-old has sat at the top of the list since 2002 and collects top dollar from endorsement deals with Chanel, Carolina Herrera and Pantene.

In 2015 Bundchen retired from the runway after a 20 year career.

Coming in second, but far behind with $10.5 million is fellow Brazilian, Adriana Lima.

The long time Victoria’s Secret model also cashes checks from Maybelline and IWC watches.

Sharing third is Kendall Jenner and Karlie Kloss with $10 million each.

Jenner, who is part of the Kardashian empire, brought home 150 percent more this year, thanks to partnerships with Estee Lauder and Calvin Klein.

Kloss doubled her earnings from last year.

The magazine says Kloss has “more campaigns than any other model on the ranking”.

New to the list is social media favorite Gigi Hadid.

With over 22 million watchers on Instagram, Forbes says brands like Maybelline and Tommy Hilfiger are eager to pay Hadid big bucks to reach her audience.

The list also includes Asia’s first supermodel, Lui Wen, who shares the eighth spot with South African model Candice Swanepoel, with $8 million, and British model Kate Moss, who earned $5 million and the 13th slot.

Forbes uses figures before taxes and fees from June 1, 2015, to June 1, 2016, to compile the standings.
