Government slams Congress for staging walk out during GST bill debate
Coimbatore /New Delhi, April 25 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party slammed opposition Congress party for walking out of the lower house of Parliament after its demand to refer the Goods and Services Tax (GST) bill to a standing committee was rejected by the Speaker. Congress party and some of its allies staged a walk out in Lok Sabha as Finance Minister Arun Jaitley initiated debate on the Constitutional amendment bill to implement Goods and Services tax. The central government hopes to pass the GST bill in the ongoing budget session. Congress leader Veerappa Moily justified his party’s decision to stage a walk out of the House. CPI leader D Raja seconded the Congress leader saying that the central government need to consult state governments on the bill.
