Government targeting Greenpeace for raising environmental concerns, says organisation

Sharing is Caring

New Delhi, April 21 (ANI): Government was selectively targeting Greenpeace for raising environmental concerns, said its member after submitting a memorandum to the interior ministry on Tuesday. Earlier this month India blocked foreign funding to the local branch of Greenpeace and restricted some activities, accusing the environmental group of misusing funds and violating financial regulations. A member of Greenpeace, Paranjoy Guha Thakurta, alleged the government was biased against them because it had opposed a major project in Australia by the Adani group, believed to be close to the Prime Minister.
