STORY: Four-time champion Gary Hunt of Great Britain opened the 2015 Cliff Diving World Series in style with victory in Cartagena, Colombia on Saturday (April 25).

Around 30,000 spectators watched the divers jump from a 27-metre platform on the Centro de Convenciones into the harbour on the Colombian Caribbean coast.

Hunt, the defending champion and winner of the title in three successive years from 2010, gained the 29th victory of his career with a front triple somersault dive with three and a half twists for a score of 526.20 points, just 0.20 points short of his personal best.

David Colturi of the United States took second place with a triple quad to give him a personal best score of 493.80.

Local star Orlando Duque delighted the home crowd by finishing third, scoring 477.60 with a reverse double somersault with four twists.

The second round of the World Series is in La Rochelle, France, on May 17.
