Syrians evacuated from two villages in Idlib province arrived in Damascus in the early Tuesday morning.

Around 330 civilians and wounded fighters trapped in two pro-government Shi’ite villages have arrived in Damascus.

On arrival, the evacuees said they were relieved.

“We suffered but we arrived safely,” one evacuee said.

But they were concerned about those who remained in the area they had fled from, where at least 25,000 civilians still live.

“We are very worried about the relatives we left behind,” said one woman.

The evacuations took place under a U.N.-sponsored agreement brokered by regional powers, part of efforts by the United Nations to set up local deals on ceasefires and safe passage.
