Incessant rain adds to misery of Nepal earthquake survivors in camps
Kathmandu, April 29 (ANI): Earthquake survivors in Kathmandu’s relief camps faced more misery as rainfall seeped through their make-shift tents. Fresh rains lashed earthquake-ravaged Nepal, where massive rescue and relief operations are underway. Rainfall, a series of aftershocks, severe damage from the quake, creaking infrastructure and a lack of funds have slowed rescue efforts in the mountainous country. They also blamed the government for not supplying enough aid on time and that they had to even arrange for food on their own. The death toll from Nepal’s devastating earthquake could reach 10,000, Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has said. India’s meteorological department, which is closely monitoring the situation, said 63 aftershocks had struck Nepal after the 7.9 magnitude quake of Saturday.
