Incessant rains flood India’s southern state
The rains across India’s southern Andhra Pradesh state have been incessant.
In Guntur district, entire neighborhoods are under water..residents given no choice but to flee.
Local media say the area’s been “crippled ” by the heavy rains.
Some residents are struggling to leave… some are reportedly stranded … street traffic there — impossible.
Extreme monsoon rains this year have caused major rivers across India to swell — bringing flooding, widespread damage, and loss of life.
..and the emergency is far from over.
Streams and lakes in the district are reportedly overflowing….and forecasters say….more rain is expected.
