New Delhi, Oct 28 (ANI): Indian archers, Abhishek Verma and Deepika Kumari, arrived in New Delhi after bagging a silver medal each at the Archery World Cup 2015 held in Mexico City. The archers were given a grand welcome at the airport complete with garlands, sweets and fans dancing to drum beats. Verma created history by bagging India’s first ever silver medal in the Archery World Cup Final in the compound section. He beat Mexico’s Mario Cardoso in the semi-finals by scoring a perfect 150. However, Verma came a close second to Turkey’s Demir Elmaagcli with a 143-145 in the summit clash. A visibly elated Verma said that beating some of the world’s best players was a unique feat. Deepika Kumari added another silver medal to India’s kitty. This is Kumari’s fourth silver in five years at the Archery World Cup final. After breezing through her quarters and semifinals Kumari went down 2-6 against Korea’s Choi Misun, also the reigning world number one. Kumari said that she was working hard to secure a gold medal for the country. She added that she now had her eyes set at the Olympics and hoped to do well.
